Kenneth W. Baker, Jr., of Bourne passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was the husband of Linda A. (Payne) Baker.

Born in Waterbury, CT he was the son of Kenneth W. and Sandra J. (Warner) Baker, Sr. of Wareham, Ma

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Brian Kenneth Baker and Carlos Merced Cabrera, a daughter Sunny Rachell Cabrera, sisters; Lisa Simmons and her husband David, Lori Brigg and her husband Stephen and Kim Foote and her husband Gordan and a brother Keith Baker and his wife Karen all of Wareham, MA; grandchildren; Thomas Brian Cox, Aadra Emerald Johnson, Mara McDanel and Piper Concannon and many nieces and nephews.

Ken’s education started early with a love of the ocean by his father’s side fishing and that remained his love throughout his life. Starting his career as a cook and then joining his father as a carpenter in his 20’s. The ocean called Ken again and he returned to the calling where he worked on the scallop boats, the Courageous and the Endeavor. When his son Brian was born his love for his son pulled him away to be fully present in his life. Ken had his own boat built to fish local as he watched Brian grow and his career prospered. He returned to carpentry up to his last day here on earth where his master of carpentry skills will be treasured for many years to come, from Naushon Island to the mainland. He was loved and respected by many, with memories that will last a lifetime.

A visitation will be held 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne.
