Kenneth Semedo, 94, of West Wareham, died March 8, 2022, in Sippican Healthcare Center, Marion. He was the husband of Henrietta (Lopes) Semedo. They were married for 64 years. He was the son of the late Antone Cabral Semedo and Guilhermina (Lopes) Semedo.

He was born in West Wareham and lived there all his life. He graduated from Wareham High School, class of 1946 and from the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center School of Radiology in 1953.

Mr. Semedo was the Chief Radiologic Technologist at St. Luke’s Hospital in Middleboro where he worked for 33 years before retiring in 1990. Previously, he worked at Mass General Hospital from 1954 to 1956.

He was a member of Cape Cod Birdies.  He enjoyed writing poetry, playing the piano, watercolor painting, and singing. He was an avid fan of all the New England Sports teams and the Wareham Vikings.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta (Lopes) Semedo of West Wareham; a daughter, Susan Semedo of Medford; a granddaughter, Simone Semedo-Gomes of Medford; a brother, Antone Semedo and his wife Dorothy of Fall River; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Andrew Mendes and his wife Rose of Marion, Antoinette Pina and her husband George of Marion, Nancy Ann Lopes of Fairhaven; his son-in-law, Alan Gomes of Wareham; many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his daughter, Ruth Semedo-Gomes and his brother, John Semedo. 

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. 

His funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.
