Kathleen “Kathy” J. Silva, 65, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of Richard A. Silva, Jr.

Born in Savannah, GA, she was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Carmen Idelia (DeJesus) Ruane. Kathy moved to Massachusetts in the 1960’s and has lived in Wareham since 2014

Kathy worked as an office manager and was also an emergency medical technician for Brewster Ambulance.

She loved to cook, was very skilled in the kitchen and enjoyed the beach.

Survivors include her husband, Rick Silva of Wareham; her children, Candice McKenna and Michael McKenna both of Fall River, and Dylan McKenna of ME; her siblings, Colleen Thake of Osage, IA, Maureen Ruane of Charles City, IA, and Christopher Volkart of Foxboro. Also surviving are four grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations — Wareham from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Her funeral will be Tuesday at the funeral home at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret’s Church, Main St., Buzzards Bay at 10 a.m.
