Karen Zopatti, 59

WAREHAM – Karen Lee (Bergeron) Zopatti, 59, of Wareham, passed away peacefully at Tobey Hospital on Jan. 14, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Richard C. Zopatti, Jr. who died on Nov. 6, 2022. They were married for 30 years. She was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Lucille (Gosselin) Bergeron.

Karen was born in Brockton and lived in Wareham for many years. She graduated from Brockton Schools and Stonehill College. She received a Doctorate in Psychology.

Karen worked as a School Psychologist for 27 years for the Town of Plymouth Public School System at Hedge, Plymouth North High School and Plymouth South Elementary Schools. She retired in January of 2021.

As a young girl, she was a member of the Girl Scouts. She and her husband Rich actively supported the Knights of Columbus, Father Grogan Council #1528 and Bishop Tyler Assembly #402. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed lifeguarding, knitting and was a voracious reader.

Survivors include an Uncle, Carl Zopatti; brother-in-law, Joseph Zopatti and his wife, Deborah of Webster; sister-in-law, Maryalice Vaughan and her husband Michael of Northbridge; her mother-in-law, Alice Zopatti of Upton and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours have been omitted.

Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
