With over 120 species of butterfly calling Massachusetts home, it can be hard to tell which is which.

That’s why butterfly aficionados Andrew and Lauren Griffith are leading a butterfly walk at Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, located at the intersection of Great Neck Road and Stockton Short Cut Street, on Saturday, July 22 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

(Full disclosure: Andrew just happens to be the director of operations for Wareham Week and its sister websites. He also loves butterflies.)

This program is part of Crawling with Fun, the Wareham Land Trust’s summer series of insect-themed events.

The walk is free for Wareham Land Trust members and $5 for nonmembers. Attendees can pay at the event with cash or check. Hikers are expected to bring snacks, water, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.
