Events planned for seniors during the month of March

Wareham’s Council on Aging has a variety of events planned for seniors during the month of March. 

The Clutter Support Group will meet on March 4 and 18 at 10:30 a.m. to discuss how to deal with everyday objects that can lead to clutter. 

A free showing of the movie “Meet the Parents” will be held on March 4 at 1 p.m.

There will be a free Ice Cream Social on March 11 at 10 a.m. Participants will learn about the benefits of Fallon’s Navicare Program.

There will be a paint party with artist Susan Bumpus on March 12 at 1 p.m. The fee to participate is $15. Art supplies will be provided. Call 508-291-3130 to reserve a spot in the program.

Also on March 12, will be a St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. The traditional Irish Lunch will include corned beef and cabbage with seasoned carrots and potatoes, and a chocolate cupcake for dessert. Reservations are needed a couple of days prior. A donation of $2.50 is suggested and appreciated. Call 508-291-3100 x6514 to reserve.

Garden Therapy with the Wareham Garden Club will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on March 13. Participants will learn basic flower arranging with members of the club, who provide supplies for the class. Sign up by March 8 by calling 508-291-3130.

There will be a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at 10:45 a.m. in the Community Room on March 16. Onset’s “Leprechaun” storyteller Jackson Gillman will spin tales about Guinness beer, a green frog prince Imposter and a true farce about a toppled statue of Ireland’s revered Patron Saint. 

On March 18, seniors will be treated to a free showing of “The Devil Wears Prada” at 1 p.m.

On March 20, there will be a “Brunch for Lunch” in the Cranberry Café at 11:30 a.m. The menu will be an omelet with hash browns and spinach, blueberry snack loaf, orange juice and fruited yogurt. Space is limited to 20, so call to reserve a place at 508-291-3100 x6514. A donation of $2.50 is suggested and appreciated.
