East Wareham man charged with vandalizing property after convenience store incident

A 51-year-old East Wareham man was arrested on Oct. 28 after he allegedly shoved a cash register off of a convenience store counter and broke a phone.

Police charged Charles Babb with vandalizing property and illegally possessing ammunition after the incident, which occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. at the 7-Eleven on Cranberry Highway.

According to police, a store employee called officers after Babb pushed the register off the counter. Babb then grabbed and threw the phone, breaking it. Police arrested Babb and took him to police headquarters for processing, where he was found to be in possession of ammunition, police said.
