Coronavirus cases still low in town

Aug 19, 2020

Town Administrator Derek Sullivan reported at Tuesday night’s Board of Selectmen meeting that there are currently three people in Wareham with active cases of coronavirus, all of whom are self-isolating.

In total, the town has had 213 cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began.

Twenty-one people in town have died from the virus. Of those deaths, fourteen were in a nursing home, one was in an assisted living facility, and six have been in the town’s general population.

Sullivan urged everyone in town to continue to be cautious, wear face coverings, and wash their hands frequently.

He noted that, as has been seen in nearby towns, it only takes one party to spur an outbreak of the virus.
