Coast Guard boating course returns
WAREHAM — A one-day boating safety course is being offered by the United States Coast Guard on multiple dates in Wareham.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, the USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 06-03 (Wareham/Onset/Marion) will give the “Boat America Safe Boating Course” at the West Wareham Fire Station #2, 2368 Cranberry Highway (Route 28).
The course will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with breaks for lunch and in the mid-morning and mid-afternoon. The day includes the final exam. Interaction with the instructor is conducted in an informal setting.
The course will also be offered on Saturday, Nov. 2 and is planned to then resume in early spring of 2025.
Successful completion of the course earns a Boat America Safe Boating Course certificate from the Coast Guard and a USCG sticker for one’s boat.
Marine insurance companies may also provide credit for the certificate, according to the USCG Auxiliary.
