The Wareham Free Library will celebrate the coming of the Winter Solstice with an authentic Irish folk music performance by a Celtic harpist and singer.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Monday Dec. 9 at the library located at 59 Marion Road. Library staff added the library closes at 5 p.m. but doors to the concert will open at 6:30 p.m.

Aine Minogue is a Celtic harpist and singer born in Ireland but has since moved to New England. According to her website, she has always loved Irish folk music and her performance at the library titled "To Warm a Winter's Night," will feature the folk music of her homeland with her own modern twist.

The event is free and no registration is required. The concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Wareham Free Library through a grant provided by the Wareham Cultural Council.
