A boy was transported to a hospital in Boston by MedFlight after being struck by a vehicle on Depot Street at about 2:30 p.m.

Wareham Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the boy to Tobey Hospital, where he was picked up by MedFlight. 

Lieutenant John Gerard said that the victim was airlifted to a hospital out of an abundance of caution because the accident involved a vehicle, but he did not appear to have sustained any serious injuries.

Gerard also said that the accident did not seem to be due to the driver’s speed or any negligence.

The driver did not sustain any injuries.
