BUZZARDS BAY – Anthony J. D’Angelo, 92, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Buzzards Bay died Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 at Cape Cod Hospital unexpectedly. He was the husband of the late Mary L. (DiBacco) D’Angelo.

Born and raised in Newton, he was the son of the late Antonio and Josephine (Lanni) D’Angelo and graduated from Our Lady’s High School, Class of 1949. He was a previous resident of Waltham and Buzzards Bay before moving to Lehigh Acres, FL and then built their current home in Cape Coral, FL where he currently lived.

When living in Buzzards Bay, Mr. D’Angelo worked as a builder and master plasterer, and owned and operated Buttermilk Bay Lodge for many years. While in Florida, he worked as a realtor for Century 21. He enjoyed golf, fishing, boating and water skiing when he was younger. Mr. D’Angelo also enjoyed playing the accordion and had a love of music. He listened to everything from big band and polka music to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

He is survived by his children, Paul D’Angelo and his wife Cara of Buzzards Bay, Deborah Sala of Sagamore Beach, Linda D’Angelo, Michael D’Angelo, and David D’Angelo and his wife Lisa all of Buzzards Bay, and Karen Abrams and her husband William of W. Wareham; his sister, Lorraine Salvucci of Waltham; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, the late Christopher Cannon and Adrienne M. Ethier.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sat., Sep. 9, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 9 to 11 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Rochester.
