Born in Wareham, MA, Alvin was the son of the late Alvin W. Philbrick, Sr., and Donna M. (Benson) Perry. He moved to Fall River in 2015 after living in Wareham and Buzzards Bay for many years. 

Alvin attended Bourne High School and once out of school, worked as a Welder at the Sandwich Power Plant and also worked in construction, sandblasting and painting. He enjoyed sports and was always athletic. He especially enjoyed softball, baseball, ice hockey, fishing and golf. Alvin was known for his love of the outdoors. Above all, he always tried to be a good friend and had many friends.

Survivors include: His daughter, Angela M. Philbrick of Old Town, ME, and grandson Aspen M. Philbrick of Brewer, ME, brothers, George P. Philbrick of Tuluksak, AK, and Lucas B. Philbrick of Wareham, MA; and sister, Karen A. Philbrick of Wareham, MA. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, the late Brian M. Philbrick.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Alvin’s name to Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904, Attn: philanthropy. A celebration of life is to be held at The Foursquare Church, Onset, MA, at a later date — graveside services will be private.
