A Community Movie Night Returns to the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell in Onset

Wareham CORE to sponsor free community showing of Disney & Pixar’s Finding Nemo on September 5

A favorite community tradition is returning to Onset this September, as families and neighbors will once again have the opportunity to enjoy a movie under the stars at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell.

Wareham CORE is proud to sponsor the return of this longtime community tradition with a free outdoor showing of Disney & Pixar’s Finding Nemo onSaturday, September 5, at 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to everyone.

After many years without a community movie at the Bandshell, the September event will bring back a simple tradition many residents remember — families gathering together, children enjoying a movie outdoors, neighbors reconnecting and new memories being made by the water in Onset.

Finding Nemo was selected not only as a family favorite, but also for the values at the heart of its story: family, friendship, courage, perseverance and inclusion.

The return of this community tradition would not be possible without the sponsorship and support of the Wareham Community Events Committee. Wareham CORE is grateful for the committee’s commitment to supporting community events in Wareham and Onset and for helping make this special evening possible.

Wareham CORE would also like to recognize the Town of Wareham and its continued efforts to make community spaces more accessible, welcoming and inclusive for people of all abilities.

The Town’s work to secure a $250,000 grant from the Massachusetts Office on Disability represents an important investment in accessibility and in the residents and visitors who enjoy Wareham’s public spaces. Improvements such as these help ensure that community spaces and events can be enjoyed by more members of the community.

Special thanks are extended to Town Administrator Derek Sullivan, Municipal Maintenance Director Dave Menard and Select Board member Judith Whiteside for their leadership and support.

Wareham CORE is also grateful to Patty Neal, Timothy Pickett, Donna Larkin and T.M. Ryder Insurance Agency for their assistance and expedited help in making the event possible.
