HAPPY BIRTHDAY WAREHAM FREE LIBRARY

Jun 5, 2021

Story Location:
Wareham Free Library, 59 Marion Road
Wareham, MA 02571
United States

Join the Wareham Garden Club and the Wareham Historical Society along with the Wareham Free Library for a birthday presentation of “Remember Back When” at the Library at 59 Marion Road from 10 am to 4 pm on June 11 and 12.

In order to celebrate the Library, The Garden Club’s floral designers will interpret four major events in the history of Wareham to help celebrate the Library’s birthday. Wareham’s history will be represented in the floral designs as well as in a variety of pictures and novels. A scavenger hunt will take place in the Children’s Room of the Library. The event is free and open to the public.

The construction of the present Library was completed in 1991, and the Library was officially opened on May 6, 1991. The Library is 30 years old!

The Wareham Free Library is an educational center and maintains documents and photographs important to the history of our Town. Each Thursday, the Library staff posts selections from its collection of early Wareham post cards along with a brief history explaining its background and importance to its Facebook page. So it seems fitting to celebrate the Library with a historic look back at Wareham!

We thank the Wareham Garden Club and the Wareham Historical Society for sharing this special time with Wareham’s citizens.
