🌳🌼 EXCITING UPDATES FROM THE LEONARD C. LOPES MEMORIAL PLAYGROUND! 🌼🌳
Another wonderful milestone for our community!
CORE is thrilled to share that the 1,100-foot perimeter walkway at the Leonard C. Lopes Memorial Playground is officially complete!🎉
This beautiful, stabilized stone dust pathway provides an accessible opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors, get some exercise, and experience everything this special playground has to offer.
🚶♀️ Did you know? Five laps around the perimeter walkway equals just over ONE MILE! What a great way to enjoy a walk while taking in the beauty of the playground!
❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU to the people who made this possible!
👏 Dave Menard, Wareham’s Municipal Maintenance Director, and his incredible crew for their hard work, dedication, and countless hours spent transforming this playground into a space our entire community can enjoy.
👏 Read Custom Soils and A.D. Makepeace Company for their extraordinarily generous donation of the stabilized stone dust that made completing this accessible pathway possible. Their generosity has made a lasting difference in our community!
👏 Wareham’s Community Preservation Committee and the state’s PARC Grant Program for providing essential funding to help bring this playground improvement project to life.
🌷 AND THE BEAUTIFICATION CONTINUES!
A very special shout-out to Ms. Cannon and her amazing students! 💛
These hardworking students have planted an incredible 500 daffodil bulbs, added beautiful perennials to the playground’s landscaped islands, and continue to help with the ongoing care and upkeep of the grounds.
Their enthusiasm, dedication, and pride in their work are helping make Lopes Playground an even more beautiful and welcoming place for everyone. We can’t wait to see those 500 daffodils blooming this spring! 🌼
🌱 AND WE’RE NOT FINISHED YET!
CORE is already exploring some exciting new additions for spring! We aren’t ready to share all the details just yet, but stay tuned… there’s more to come!
💚 It truly takes a community to create something this special. Thank you to our town officials, generous donors, funding partners, dedicated workers, students, and volunteers who continue to make the Leonard C. Lopes Memorial Playground a place where everyone belongs.
Together, we’re making outdoor recreation more accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for ALL!
