South Coast Chamber Music Series Announces 2026–2027 Season

Five programs bring extraordinary chamber music to Marion and South Dartmouth, from an all-American celebration and Beethoven tribute to beloved masterworks and compelling discoveries.

The South Coast Chamber Music Series (SCCMS), a program of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, announces its 2026–2027 season, offering five weekends of exceptional chamber music performed in the intimate settings of St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Marion and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in South Dartmouth.

The new season invites audiences to experience chamber music at its most immediate and personal, with programs that span centuries, styles, and emotions. From an all-American opening weekend and the haunting sounds of All Souls to an all-Beethoven program, the return of the NBSO’s woodwind musicians, and a season finale filled with both joy and profound emotion, each concert offers a different musical journey.

“Welcome to our next chamber season, where the enduring power of music lifts our spirits, teases our intellects, and elevates us to a better place on a quiet afternoon in New England,” said SCCMS Artistic Director and pianist Janice Weber. “You, our intrepid audience, are half of that voyage. With immense gratitude and excitement, we look forward to continuing our journey together into this most rewarding, elusive, and precious dimension of human endeavor.”

About the South Coast Chamber Music Series

The South Coast Chamber Music Series was formed to bring outstanding chamber music to communities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. Since its first subscription series concert in 2001, SCCMS has presented music ranging from Bach, Brahms, and Ravel to compelling works by contemporary composers.

Each program brings together exceptional musicians, diverse repertoire, and the intimate acoustic environments of Marion and South Dartmouth, creating a uniquely personal connection between performers and audiences. SCCMS joined forces with the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra in 2014, expanding opportunities for more concerts, more musicians, and more music throughout the South Coast.
