Wareham man arrested in fatal motor vehicle accident, charged with fourth OUI
Raymond Cardoza, 67, of Wareham has been arrested following a car accident that killed 25-year-old Jordan Hansen.
Around 5:05 p.m. Friday, July 25, Cardoza’s car collided with Hansen’s motorcycle on route 28 near Wareham Ford and Robertson’s GMC.
Wareham Police and Fire found Hansen on the ground with life threatening injuries and he was brought to Tobey Hospital. Hansen was then brought to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford where he died from his injuries.
In a joint investigation with the state police and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, Wareham Police was able to locate Cardoza a quarter-of-a-mile from the scene of the crash.
Cardoza is facing his fourth operating under the influence charge as well as: operating under the influence-manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury or death and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
The investigation is still ongoing and Cardoza is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
