Wareham police responded to an armed robbery at China Chef, located at 1 Depot St., just before midnight on March 15.

According to a China Chef employee, a male suspect dressed in all-black clothing and wearing a bandana over his face entered the restaurant, pulled out a black revolver-style firearm and demanded money. 

The suspect then reached over the counter, took an undetermined amount of cash from the register, and fled on foot.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area with assistance from a Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit but were unable to locate the suspect.

The Wareham Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the division at (508) 295-1206 or submit a tip anonymously through the department’s tip line.
