Josephine M. (Ciano) Lambiase, 103
WAREHAM - Josephine M. (Ciano) Lambiase of Wareham, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 103 on February 12, 2025. She was the wife of the late John R. Lambiase and the daughter of the late Gaetano and Michelina (Dimaso) Ciano. Survivors include her son, John Lambiase of Whitman; 3 daughters, Nancy Morano and her husband, Richard of Wareham, Mary-Jo Lambiase and her partner, Ellen of Litchfield and Jo Ann Lambiase of Wareham; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and her grandcat Savanna. She was the mother of the late Michael Lambiase and Michelle Geist.
Born in Somerville, MA, Josephine graduated from Somerville High School and later from Hairdressing School, where she would meet her husband of 58 years. Together, Josephine and her husband lived in Arlington and Hingham before moving to their beloved beach house in Wareham, where they were members of St. Patrick’s Church. Winters were spent in Marco Island, FL soaking up the sun and collecting seashells along the shore.
Her greatest joys in life were the arrival of newborn babies into the family and being surrounded by loved ones. In Josephine’s downtime, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cooking. Her home was the gathering place for Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations. She made all feel welcome. Josephine’s homemade pasta sauce was legendary. The family will be sharing cherished recipes and family stories, ensuring that her legacy of love and togetherness continues for generations to come.
Visiting hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s church, 94 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
