Kathleen Baptiste-Atchue, 72
WAREHAM – Kathleen Baptiste-Atchue, 72, of Wareham, passed away on October 8, 2022, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Plymouth. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Atchue and the daughter of the late August and Mary (Pina) Baptiste.
She was born in Wareham and lived there her whole life. She graduated from Wareham High School.
Mrs. Baptiste-Atchue worked as a Service Representative for Verizon Telephone Company for many years before retiring.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, the prayer shawl group at the church and the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, baking – especially breads, crocheting, and knitting. She was a beloved Auntie and Grand Auntie to her many nephews and nieces. She loved her two cats, Lily and Otis. She was a long-time supporter of the Audubon Society and the World Wildlife Fund.
Survivors include a sister, Elaine M. Bartie of West Wareham; a brother, Leonard A. Baptiste of Westford; many nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late August A. Baptiste, Jr. and Judith Ann Baptiste-Fontes.
Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
Her funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.
