Wareham Public Schools to conduct developmental screenings

Oct 7, 2019

The Wareham Public Schools will be conducting development screenings to identify possible learning or development delays in children between the ages of three and five.

The screening quickly samples a child’s skills across speech and language, reasoning, fine motor, and social development and offer insight into a child’s strengths and weaknesses.

Staff may offer recommendations, suggestions, or resources for parents, guardians, and children following the screening. If delays are suspected, staff will discuss the process for further evaluation to determine eligibility for special education services.

Those with concerns about their child’s development in the areas listed should make an appointment by calling 508-789-7994 or emailing Anne Marie Fillion at afillion@wareham.k12.ma.us.

Screenings will be held at the John W. Decas Elementary School at 760 Main St. on October 25, November 22, December 13, January 24, February 28, March 27, April 17, and May 22.
