Wareham man arrested for outstanding warrants after pursuit
A Wareham man, Geoffrey Chandler, age 37, has been arrested following a low-speed pursuit by the Plymouth Police Department, having outstanding warrants for charges including threats, strangulation and assault.
The Plymouth Police Department reported that it received a call about an erratic operator in South Plymouth at approximately 11 p.m. on Monday, March 18. Officer Kevin Ciavarra found the vehicle doing donuts around a median at Raymond Road and Little Sandy Pond Road, and began a short, low-speed pursuit.
Officer Ciavarra witnessed the suspect go up onto a lawn, then back onto Little Sandy Pond Road. The suspect vehicle fishtailed, was unable to maintain control and struck a tree.
Chandler fled on foot and was apprehended by Officer Ciavarra. He was arrested and charged with OUI Liquor, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police and Destruction of Property under $1,200.
Chandler also had two outstanding warrants for the following charges: Threats, Strangulation, Witness Intimidation, Assault and Battery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Larceny over $1,200 and a second count of Strangulation.
