State Senator Marc Pacheco, who represents Taunton, Carver, Marion, Middleborough and Wareham, as well as five Bristol County towns, in the Massachusetts State Senate, has announced his decision not to run for reelection.

Pacheco said that the decision was taken after having “conversations with my family and my staff.” He did not elaborate further on his reasons for not seeking reelection.

However, he said that he may run for office in the future or that he may seek a different position in “public service.”

"While I am unsure what the future will bring, the door is always open for new and exciting opportunities," Pacheco said.
