Officers investigating a break-in at a 7-Eleven on Barker Road followed a trail of blood more than half a mile before locating two teenagers who were arrested for the crime.

According to a statement from police, upon arrival, officers found the front glass door shattered, with blood smears and droplets leading away from the scene. The officers traced the blood trail to a nearby residence.

There, they discovered two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, matching the description from security footage. Officers also recovered stolen items from the business at the residence.

One of the juveniles, a 16-year-old, had a hand injury and was transported to Tobey Hospital by Wareham EMS for medical evaluation.

The teenagers, both from Wilbraham, were charged with breaking and entering at night, larceny from a building and being minors in possession of alcohol.
