The annual Blessing of the Fleet will return to Onset Pier, 186 Onset Ave., on Saturday, July 1 at 10 a.m.

A priest from St. Margaret’s Church in Buzzards Bay will sprinkle holy water onto a parade of passing boats, decked out in their finest patriotic regalia. Prizes will go to the best-dressed boats.

Immediately after the blessing, there will be a parade of bicycles, pets and dog carriages for families to participate in. Like the boats, participants are encouraged to dress their bikes, tykes and fur babies in their Fourth of July best. 

Registration for the parade is free and begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

In the event of rain, the Blessing of the Fleet will be moved to Sunday, July 2.
