School policies subcommittee seeks members

Sep 15, 2020

The Wareham Public Schools Policy Review Subcommittee is looking for parents interested in serving on the committee this school year.

The subcommittee meets at least once a month to review Wareham Public Schools policies and make recommendations to the School Committee.

Members commit to serving on the committee for one year.

There is one opening for a parent of a child in each school: John W. Decas Elementary School, Minot Forest Elementary School, Wareham Middle School, and Wareham Senior High School.

There is also a position designated for the parent of a special education student.

The rest of the subcommittee is composed of teachers, administrators, and school committee members, and each meeting is open to the public.

As there may not be a space large enough to accommodate the subcommittee while social distancing, meetings may be held remotely over Zoom.

Those interested should email Jamie Wiksten at jwiksten@wareham.k12.ma.us by September 23.

Members will be chosen by September 29, after which times, dates and locations for meetings will be set by consensus.
