WAREHAM – Rita M. (Ferranti) Halle, 89, Wareham, passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2023.  She was the wife of the late Robert E. Halle and the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Taranto) Ferranti. 

She was born and raised in Cambridge. She spent summers in Wareham since 1968 and moved there permanently in 1999. She lived in Abington with her daughter for the last 3 years.     

Mrs. Halle worked as a finance clerk at the Middlesex Probate Court for many years before retiring in 1999.

She enjoyed listening to classical and jazz music, dancing, cooking, entertaining, decorating and shopping. Most of all she loved and lived for her family.  She was a member of the Tobey Hospital Guild and was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham.

Survivors include her daughters, Ruth M. Halle of Wareham and Nancy H. Mailloux and her husband Paul of Abington; a grandson, David Ranelli and his partner Erin of New Bedford; a great grandson David Ranelli, and two great-great grandchildren, Elias and Kacy; her siblings, John Ferranti and his wife Theresa of Plymouth, Diana Drake and her husband Richard of Arlington, Deborah Palazzolo and her husband Joseph of Maynard and Angela Poyant and her husband Claudin of Wareham.  She was the sister of the late Marie Calogero and Eleanor Saunders and their surviving spouses respectively, Frank Calogero and Russell Saunders.  She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. 

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. 

Donations in her memory can be made to the Tobey Hospital Guild.
