Public comment period opens for changes to Transportation Improvement Program

Dec 20, 2023

The Transportation Improvement Program for fiscal year 2024-2028 for Southeastern Massachusetts is being amended.

A project funding guide and traffic sign replacement on a section of Interstate 495 from Wareham to Raynham will decrease in costs from $8,023,070 to $6,066,394. The decrease in costs is due to adjusted project limit, change in materials and adjustments in unit prices.

Additionally, a separate project will now be included in the fiscal year 2024-2028 Transportation Improvement Program. This project funds equipment for highway operations for the towns of Dartmouth, Lakeville, Middleborough, New Bedford, North Attleborough, Norton, Swansea and Taunton.

A virtual public meeting on this amendment will be held remotely on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. at this link. Visit the Southeast Regional Planning and Economic Development District website for more information.
