Local resident Darrin Garcia submitted this poem, entitled “Friends,” to Wareham Week:

Friends

Sweet friends that rarely come into your life

The things they say is heartfelt and never strife

You build foundations on rock instead of sand.

People you learn to trust and they always give you a hand.

You share things sometimes that can be hard and sometimes tough to talk about.

You can lay the layers and not act like you have clout.

Enjoy life and the people that come into your space.

Because the ones you do become close with also share their place.
