Thank you to ALL of the Wareham Citizens who came to the Special Town Meeting within the Special Town Meeting on April 10th. It was the most amazing experience — participatory democracy at its most basic form. Thank you to the Town Moderator, Town Clerk, Police Department, Safety Committee, Board of Selectman, Planning Board, Finance Committee, and everyone who worked diligently to make this epic meeting run smoothly and safely. 

Special thanks also to Chloe and Madison of “Wareham Week” for their excellent coverage and reporting to the citizenry from the various Town Board meetings that took place over the last six months.

The Wareham Land Trust is grateful for the support of the other nine conservation organizations and individuals too numerous to mention who helped in getting information to the voters and thereby motivated voters to turn out in record numbers. It was wonderful to hear the array of comments and concerns from strangers & friends, young & old, pro & con about this important rezoning proposal!  

There were many, many Planning Board and Finance Committee meetings where voices were heard but none were as passionate as those heard on Saturday.  We are ever so grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.
