Madison Courtney was selected to be the Scotty Monteiro Jr. Award winner for the month of October.

Madison is said to be “friendly and inclusive of all her peers.”

According to the school, Olivia welcomes friendships without judgement and offers support to others whenever she can.

She is also known to bring lots of “energy and creativity to her classes,” the school said.

The “Scotty Award,” given by the foundation of the same name, is named after a 21-year-old Wareham man who was murdered in 2009.

The foundation’s stated aim is to “stop the violence” by recognizing outstanding youth.
