ONSET – Mary R. (Randell) Jean, 76, of Onset, MA formerly of Brockton, MA and Georgia, passed away on September 25, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Brockton, MA. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Orleaner (Johnson) Randell.

She was born in Moultrie, Georgia and lived in Florida, Wareham and Brockton, MA for many years.  

Mrs. Jean worked as a beautician and stylist at Willie’s Designs in Wareham for many years. She later worked as a coordinator at the Evelyn House and also at Father Bill’s Mainspring both in Brockton.

She was a member of the YMCA in Brockton and loved going there. She was also a member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Brockton and sang in the choir. She loved being around people and socializing.

Survivors include 3 sisters, Willie P. Rose of Onset, Mae Newland and her husband, Geoffrey of Cocoa Beach, FL and Mattie Lambert of Albany, GA; 2 brothers, Wilson Randell and his wife Bernice of Normand Park, GA and Jimmy Lawrence Randell of Moultrie, GA; many nephews and nieces.  She was the sister of the late Veronice Randell, and Alex Randell, Jr. and Eddie Louis Randell. 

Visiting hours are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – BRIDGEWATER, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater. 

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 24 Pleasant St., Brockton. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
