John M. Sullivan, 60

Feb 7, 2020

John M. Sullivan, age 60 years, of Wareham, formerly of Manomet, died peacefully Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at his home. He was the former husband of Tracy (Bretti) Sullivan, and the son of the late John and Eileen (Northrup) Sullivan.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, John spent most of his life in Plymouth before moving recently to Wareham. John was a graduate of Plymouth-Carver High School, class of 1978, and attended Cape Cod Community College and UMASS-Amherst where he studied culinary arts. John enjoyed many pastimes during his life, especially hockey, cooking, his corvette, the beach, waterskiing, boating, and lobstering. In addition to lobstering, he was a carpenter and long term post office employee.

He loved his children and family and was fond of family vacations. They often travelled to Florida and Maine, with special trips to the Grand Canyon. In John’s later years, he sought serenity through faith, and his favorite days were cooking lunch for his sons at Matt’s house.

Besides his former wife Tracy, John will be closely missed by his children, Kelly Sullivan of Florida, Christopher Sullivan of Plymouth, Matthew Sullivan of Wareham and Michael Sullivan of Plymouth, his sisters Anna “Pat” Huffman and her husband Robert of Texas, Maureen McQuillan and her husband Daniel of Mattapoisett, Beth Murray and her husband Steve of Lynchburg, Ohio and Martin Sullivan and his wife Tracy of Bourne, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the New Testament Church, 1120 Long Pond Road, Plymouth on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
