Jacob G. “Jake” Diefenbach, 39
Jacob G. “Jake” Diefenbach, 39, of Wareham, died Thursday, July 8, 2021, at his home unexpectedly. Born in Wareham, he was the son of Kathleen M. (DeCicco) and George J. Diefenbach, III of Buzzards Bay.
He graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 2000, and attended The Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship and was a member of the Seafarers International Union of North America. Jake worked for the Steamship Authority as engineer, and then sailed for Crowley Petroleum Services as a pumpman, then as engineer on a tug and barge unit.
Jake enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his parents, Kathleen M. & George J. Diefenbach III of Buzzards Bay; his sisters, Shayne Fiorentino and her husband David of Wareham, and Heidi Diefenbach and her partner, Mike Atwood of Wareham; his nieces, Ariel, Aylvia, Adriana, Eva, Mariah; his nephew, Michael; and his great-niece, Giavanna.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Mon., July 19, 2021 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tues., July 20, 2021 at St. Margaret’s Church, 141 Main St., Buzzards Bay, MA at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
