Identity, condition of motorcyclist injured on Glen Charlie Road still not released by police
Wareham Police said they still have no information to release five days after witnesses reported a motorcyclist collided with a truck on Glen Charlie Road and suffered serious leg injuries.
Wareham Week has reached out to police several times but has been repeatedly told the department would reach back out with information but there has been no correspondence on the incident.
The accident occurred around 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, June 4 in the area of 206 Glen Charlie Road.
Timothy Pickett who lives near the area witnessed the accident and said the motorcyclist attempted to make a left too quickly around a bend in the road and collided with the truck coming the opposite direction.
Teddy Higgins was driving home with his 3 and 5-year-old kids in the car at the time of the accident and using a belt and a blouse from other witnesses, applied a tourniquet to the injured man’s right leg.
“He had this massive laceration on his upper thigh and he was losing blood quick,” Higgins said. “His leg was definitely broken and separated below the knee.”
Higgins said police arrived five to 10 minutes after the accident occurred and took over caring to the injured motorcyclist.
