Grand Marshal sought for Veterans Day Parade

The committee planning a Veterans Day Celebration in Wareham for November 11, 2020, is seeking applicants for a Grand Marshal from area veterans. 

Applicants from Bourne, Carver, Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester, Plymouth, and Wareham will be considered.

The Grand Marshal will be the public face of the celebration and is expected to be able to participate in pre-event publicity events, be interviewed by local reporters for both newspapers and local public access television, be able to ride in a “suitable vehicle” and be escorted in the parade, and make brief remarks during the ceremony, and possibly serve as the keynote speaker.

To be considered, applicants must be an active, honorably discharged or retired member of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard; a resident of the aforementioned towns; must have submitted a completed nomination letter to the Chairman of the Grand Marshal Committee; and provide information about his or her military service as requested by the committee.
