Driver wanted for hit and run in Wareham charged with OUI

The driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a woman injured in Wareham on Monday night was arrested on Tuesday, March 5 after police officers reportedly spotted him driving a pickup truck with fresh damage.

According to reports, Wareham Police officers observed a red Ford F-150 with damaged side mirrors near the Narrows Bridge. According to the police, the vehicle matched the description of the one which had struck a woman on a crosswalk near Marion Road and Swifts Beach Road.

The driver, Paul Randon, 63, of West Wareham, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

After being questioned about the hit and run incident, Randon will face additional charges for leaving the scene of an accident.
