A young woman is facing charges after a July 24 Swifts Beach car crash that left her mother dead.

The head-on crash occurred at about 11:50 a.m. on Swifts Beach Road near Marion Road.

Shalese White, 21, was driving with her mother, Kristi Garner, 56. 

Three people sustained injuries in the crash, and Garner later succumbed to her injuries. 

White has been charged with two counts of negligent operation of a motor vehicle: one for homicide and one for serious injuries. She is also facing a charge for a marked lanes violation.
