Town Counsel Richard Bowen is ready and willing to file a complaint against a delinquent home owner in Plymouth County Superior Court.

Bowen said during Tuesday night’s Board of Selectmen meeting that Donald McMullin, who owns two homes on adjacent lots at 23 Wareham Ave. and 23 12th Street in Onset, has been notorious in the neighborhood for years for leaving trash piled around the properties, even on town property and, on some occasions, across the street.

McMullin was sent a complaint through certified mail from Health Agent Robert Ethier. McMullin has another week to comply with the order, but Bowen said that “based on past performance,” he doesn’t expect to see that happen. 

Selectman Peter Teitelbaum said that this case has been languishing in housing court since February, and neighbors have been struggling for even longer. 

“It’s been a saga,” Teitelbaum said. 

Town Administrator Derek Sullivan said that he wanted to let the neighbors know that their concerns have been heard and are being acted on.
