Claire Catherine (Burns) McAuliffe, 77

Claire Catherine (Burns) McAuliffe, 77, of East Wareham, died Oct. 14, 2020, in Tobey Hospital. She was the wife of Kevin Barry McAuliffe and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this month.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Leo Francis and Claire Louise (Paul) McAuliffe. She graduated from Jamaica Plain High School in 1960. A previous resident of Dorchester, she moved to East Wareham in 1973.

Mrs. McAuliffe was a dedicated “Hockey Mom” and enjoyed watching all her children play sports.

Survivors include her husband, Kevin Barry McAuliffe of East Wareham; her children, Michelle Ann (McAuliffe) Dickerson and her husband Donald of Dennis, Kevin Michael McAuliffe of Wareham; Timothy Patrick McAuliffe of Wareham, Michael Francis McAuliffe of Quincy; her brothers, Gary Burns of Randolph and Kevin Burns of Weymouth; her grandchildren, Brianna Nichole McAuliffe, Dakota Myles Dickerson, Kaylee Marie McAuliffe, Skyler Claire Dickerson, Nicholas Michael McAuliffe, Emma Christine McAuliffe, Aiden Patrick McAuliffe, and Allicen Dean; her great grandchildren, Sophia Ella-Rose Callahan, and Chloe Mae Callahan.  She was predeceased by her son, the late Robert Paul McAuliffe, and her brothers, the late Leo Burns, Joseph Burns, Robert Burns, and Raymond Burns.

Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.  (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity).  Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
