Cape Cod Coffee to come to Wareham

Mar 2, 2022

The Cape Cod Coffee Company was granted a liquor license to open a new location in the former Cosi cafe in Wareham Crossing at the March 2 Select Board Meeting. The company roasts its own coffee in Mashpee and currently runs two cafes.

“We’re very excited to be expanding off cape and onto Wareham, and we think it’ll be a good fit for everybody,” owner Jan Aggerbeck said, adding that he is invested in giving back to the community. “We’re all about family, community, and doing the right thing.”

Several board members were initially concerned about the design of an outdoor seating area, but their concerns were allayed. The proposed outdoor seating area will be created from four parking spaces, and a new sidewalk will be poured.

Hannah Foley, a representative of the Wareham Crossing landlords, said that the complex would still have more than the required amount of parking, and that the outdoor seating area would not reduce the number of accessible parking spaces.

The board voted unanimously to approve the license, and Select Board Chair Judith Whiteside thanked the company for bringing its business to Wareham.
