Basketball stunts and tricks coming to Wareham High School
In an effort to help raise money for the Wareham High School senior class, the senior class officers and faculty advisors are bringing in world famous basketball stunt group the Harlem Wizards.
The fundraiser will take place at the Wareham High School gymnasium Tuesday, Nov. 19 as an effort to raise money for the senior class prom and their class trip according to Wareham High School Principal Scott Palladino.
"It'll be a basketball game but it'll be an entertaining basketball game," said Palladino. "The team is very talented and they do a lot of different stunts. It's interactive and [the Harlem Wizards] get the fans really into the game."
Senior class faculty advisor Marjory Rakoski added the game is played between the Harlem Wizards and members of the staff from the elementary, middle and high school.
According to Palladino, the event is also a way to get people excited about the upcoming Vikings basketball season.
"Wareham is a huge basketball town so it makes a lot of sense to have the Wizards come in just before the basketball season," said Palladino.
Palladino added this is not the first time the Wizards have come to the high school and he is excited for the group to be back.
"I think it's going to be a great event and I know they've sold a lot of tickets," said Palladino. "I'm looking forward to seeing a packed gymnasium."
The game will start at 6:30 p.m. and doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
