Antone Manuel (Buddy) Andrade, died unexpectedly due to complications from pneumonia on June 5, 2019.   

Buddy was born in Wareham on May 9, 1947, to Antone C. Andrade, and Charlotte (Lotti) Fernandez Andrade, the oldest son of three children.  Buddy graduated from Wareham High School in 1965 and was the Captain of the football team and received a full scholarship to Morgan State University but opted to enlist as a Marine on May 13, 1965, in Parris Island, South Carolina.

Buddy went on to play semi-pro football for the Cobras and later enlisted as a Wareham Police Officer where he served for two years.  Buddy ultimately found his calling in the construction field where he worked on repairs for the Callahan Tunnel, the building of the MCI Framingham Department of Corrections, amongst other major Massachusetts landmarks.  Buddy moved on to be the construction manager for the United House of Prayer, building churches in New Bedford, MA, Buffalo, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, and all over the United States and renovating the Boys and Girls Club of America in Washington, D.C.  He also did a lot of roadwork and paving in Rhode Island. He ultimately settled in Maryland where he built the last church for the House of Prayer in Washington, D.C. before moving on to work for The Saint Charles Companies as the Construction Manager where he built apartments and townhomes until his retirement in 2016.   

Buddy enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.  He was very knowledgeable, and a jack of all trades and could do almost anything. He took pride in his landscaping skills and his meticulously organized garage.  

On July 1, 1991, Buddy was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation where he was recognized for exemplary service to the community of the town of Wareham. In September 2011, Buddy received an award from the American Community Properties Trust of the United States Green Building Council where he successfully achieved the Gold Level of Certification established by the United States Green Building Council in the lead green building system.

Buddy will be remembered for his teasing jokes, his unfailing work ethic, his generous smile, his generosity to family, his willingness to help friends and he always employed people who were trying to better themselves.

Buddy was predeceased by his father, Antone C. Andrade, mother, Charlotte (Lotti) Andrade and brother Benjamin Andrade. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Lorraine (Martin) Andrade, daughters April Andrade and husband, Gordon Hall of Fort Washington, MD, Antoinette Angel Johnson, and husband, Anderson (A.J.) Johnson of Queen Creek, AZ, and son Quentin (Buddy) Andrade of Pocasset, MA. Grandchildren: Erik (E.J.) Pina, Jr., Hayley Andrade, Brandon Buchanan, Aaron Buchanan, Quentin Andrade, Jr., sibling: Linda MacLellan of Wareham MA, and many saddened nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thanks to the employees at the Saint Charles Company, especially his dear friend Harry Charlstrom.
