24 Wareham students headed to DECA career development conference

Mar 4, 2019

24 Wareham students will attend the 60th annual State DECA Career Development Conference on March 7 at Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

There will be over 3,000 DECA members competing and attending the three day conference.

The conference is hosted every year to allow students to meet in a competitive environment and show off their business skills and knowledge.

DECA is an association of marketing, management and entrepreneurial students who are academically prepared, civically conscious, professionally oriented and emerging leaders who aspire to make a difference in their community.

The conference will kick off Thursday night with the opening ceremony and keynote speaker. On Friday, students will compete all day while attending workshops and a business
trivia quiz bowl.

The top three competitors will receive an award Friday night, followed by a dance and a lip-sync battle. On Saturday, the top 10 students in each category will be announced and the top three to five will qualify to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida in April.
