Cody Tuomala, a 20-year-old who grew up in Wareham, died following a gunshot wound in Winter Park, Florida.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to Tuomala’s address at about 11 p.m. on September 20 and found Tuomala with a life-threatening wound. He was transported to the hospital and pronounced deceased. 

The incident is being investigated as a homicide. 

According to his obituary, Tuomala was a freshman at Full Sail University in Winter Park. He graduated from the Plymouth Public Library Literacy (GED) program in 2018. Beginning in 2014, he worked for Warren Electrical Technologies.
