Wareham tennis star wins individual conference tournament

Jul 2, 2022

Sophomore Brooklyn Bindas has capped off her undefeated tennis season with a final win in the South Coast Conference’s Individual Girls Singles Tournament on Friday.

No. 1 seed Bindas played against No. 2 seed Kaydin Pinto of Fairhaven in the conference’s final match at Wareham High School. She won the match 6-1, 6-3, ending her personal season and the Wareham Vikings’ on a high note.

The two girls battled it out in the hot and humid weather, Coach Geoff Swett said, just weeks after the Vikings performed in their first ever MIAA state championships as a team.

On June 18, the Vikings fell to the Hamilton-Wenham Generals 4-1: the lone Wareham win being Bindas’ singles victory.

The conference’s individuals tournament ends a highly successful season for the Wareham girls tennis team, as the players were undefeated this season up until their state championship match.
