Oct 22, 2020

Wareham remains in the yellow moderate risk category for coronavirus cases this week, as the state’s October 22 Public Health Report shows cases in town are continuing to rise.

The state reports 24 cases over the last 14 days, an increase over the prior week’s report.

Over the last two weeks, 1002 cases were taken in Wareham, 29 of which were positive for a 2.89 percent positivity rate.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 278 cases in the town.

There have been no deaths from coronavirus so far this fall.

Many surrounding towns are in the red, per the state’s calculations, meaning that the rate of cases is higher than 8 per 100,000 people. Plymouth, Middleborough, and Rochester are all in the red, while Carver is yellow. Marion is still gray, which is the lowest category with fewer than five reported cases.
