Less than a year after being elected to the School Committee, member Rebekah Pratt announced she is leaving the board.

On Thursday, Chair Joyce Bacchiocchi read a statement from Pratt, who was not in attendance.

“This has been a very difficult decision to make,” read Bacchiocchi. The statement went on to say that because Pratt’s family is moving to Carver she is no longer eligible to serve on the committee. Pratt said her daughter will continue to attend Wareham High School following the move. Pratt, who is involved in youth athletics, will also continue to volunteer.

Pratt was elected to the board in April.
