Wareham restaurant fined $150 for mice

Nov 7, 2018

The Wareham Board of Health issued a $150 fine to a Chinese restaurant after health inspectors discovered evidence of a mouse infestation.

Health officials fined Gourmet Garden owner Ricky Huang on Wednesday on the recommendation of Health Agent Robert Ethier. The restuarant is located at 2421 Cranberry Highway in Wareham Crossing and opened in 2016. MacDonald said the infestation was discovered during an inspection for an unrelated matter.

Huang said the problem has since been handled.

“We hired exterminations and they did a very good job,” said Huang. “We can’t see any mice.”

Health Inspector Patrick MacDonald noted the restaurant has not had any major problems previously.
